I have put this in the chatroom for immediate attention and have added it here for retention.

Yesterday the Women & Equalities Committee discussed the safety and efficacy of the Puberty Pausing (Blockers) Ban and the practicality of such a ban. As it turned out I was not able to watch this myself as it had been delayed from it's original scheduled time so I was immensely grateful to see this BlueSky extended thread written in real time so may be disjointed: https://skywriter.blue/pages/did:plc:ejptq5dgvhi5ya52pp7ili27/post/3lgdn67676s26?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=2025-01-23&utm_campaign=TON+News+January+2025
TLDR: there were lots of transphobia and misinformation from several politicians as expected but the medical experts were able to effectively counter them as well as creating huge holes in the Cass Report. I think the conclusion is that generally speaking the medical and trans PoV held up against bigotry and the ethical and practical considerations of a trial as described were quite seriously challenged. Where does it go from here, I don't know, but we do have some more solid evidence to bring up against the Cass Report
