Deconstructing The Cass Report

One statement that I found sums the entire thing up is this: "Gender-affirming care is the only thing that has positively helped trans youth thus far, and abandoning it now isn’t a passive or neutral solution — it’s an active and conscious decision to subject these children to antiquated social and medical interventions that have already been scientifically shown to be ineffective if not downright harmful."
I do not think it is impossible to overemphasise the danger that this report presents for the future of trans children especially given the moral panic around the subject of detransitioners (those who regret or stop transitioning) - less than 0.3% and we know from multiple studies that of those who do detransition roughly half re-transition later. Yet we have already seen how one single case brought a cessation to child and youth transgender healthcare on the NHS for over a year until it was overturned on appeal.
